🦉 The Owl Arch – Hand-Carved Oak Entranceway

A Secret Gateway to the World of Owls

Somewhere in the British countryside, hidden behind the scenes of a rather magical film world, stands this hand-carved Owl Arch — a gateway fit for feathered royalty.

Commissioned by a private client who keeps and trains owls and other animals for film work (we can’t say more… though one particularly famous snowy owl may have once been in their care), this archway was created as the entrance to an owl aviary — a fitting portal between the real and the mythical.

Crafted from bone oak, the solid heartwood that remains long after the outer tree has decayed, the structure has an ancient, timeworn beauty that will last for decades outdoors. The owls — each one hand-carved from oak — perch within the arch as if watching over the woodland realm beyond.

Standing 2.4 metres tall and 1.5 metres wide, this impressive piece was designed, built, and delivered personally by our Free Range Designs craftsmen. It even includes a removable rustic gate, made to keep inquisitive llamas from exploring the owl enclosure!

Every curved branch, knot and carving tells its own story — an ode to the wild, the wise, and the wonderful.
